How do I register?
To register, please click the 2021 REGISTRATION link in the navigation. Registration requires a Teamsnap account – which is free.
When is the registration deadline?
The deadline to register for the 2021 season is April 15, 2021.
What does it cost?
The early bird registration cost for the 2021 season is $60 for Grades K-2, and $80 for Grades 3-6. After April 1, 2021, the cost increases to $80 for Grades K-2, and $100 for Grades 3-6. The registration fees includes a t-shirt.
What ages are eligible?
The Avon Youth Baseball program is available for boys and girls in grades K-6.
What equipment will my player need?
Your child will need a glove, appropriate baseball pants and shoes, and a battling helmet. Uniform t-shirts are included in the registration fee.  Many players also have their own bat, but each team will have a few to share.
Are there tryouts?
No, there are not tryouts. Teams will be drafted by coaches to ensure that teams are split as evenly as possible. 
How often will we practice?
Practices will be held two nights per week prior to games beginning, and then one night per week during the season. Practice schedules will be determined after team splits have been made but typically occur Mon, Tue, Wed or Thu evenings. Practices may begin as early as May 1st.
How many games will we play?
Pee Wee (3rd/4th) and Junior Varsity (5th/6th) divisions will eight games within the I-94 League (actual number of games is subject to change based on # of teams). K/1st/2nd will play games against the other Avon Youth Baseball teams, actual number of games TBD. Games will be played on Tuesday nights and begin June 1, 2021.
Is there an end of season tournament?
Yes, Pee Wee (3rd/4th) and Junior Varsity (5th/6th) teams are eligible for the end of season tournament. A spot in the tournament is not guaranteed and may be determined by overall record (if necessary based on the number of teams in each division).
What is the I-94 League?
The I-94 League is made up of Albany, Avon, Melrose and Sauk Centre. Games will be played with these schools throughout the season. The I-94 League is for Pee Wee (3rd/4th) and Junior Varsity (5th/6th) divisions only. 
Why is there not a Varsity (7th/8th) division?
There will no longer be a 7th/8th grade division due to lack of interest, other schools also not fielding a 7th/8th grade team, middle school baseball, and Babe Ruth baseball.  
Can I coach?
Yes, volunteer coaches are necessary to make this program a success. If you are interested in coaching, you may sign up on the registration form. Ultimately, the selection of coaches is at the discretion of the board.
Are the coaches paid or are they volunteer?
Avon Youth Baseball coaches and board members are volunteers.
